Home

I am honored to be representing the constituents of House District 53 as their Representative at the State Capitol.   I was sworn in on January 12, 2009, and just concluded my fourth legislative session.   I serve on the House Judiciary Committee, the Health & Human Services Committee, the Budget & Fiscal Affairs Oversight Committee and the Game, Fish & Parks Committee.   I am also a co-chair of the Women’s Caucus and a member of the Fulton County Delegation.

It has been an honor and an enlightening experience to serve District 53 over the past four years and it is with a saddened heart and mixed emotions that I inform you that I will not seek reelection for another term as your Representative. As you know, our district was changed substantially during the Reapportionment Session of the Legislature last summer. As our district was combined with District 44, I have been paired to run against an incumbent Democrat. After evaluating the new District 53, I have determined that it is in the best interest of the new District 53 that another representative serve our constituents.

I will continue to serve as your Representative through the end of this term in December and therefore, do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of service to you or if you have any questions about this past Legislative Session.

The 2012 session of the Georgia General Assembly adjourned March 29.  If you wish to find the status of a specific bill, please check the General Assembly website.  In addition, if you are interested in a specific bill or issue, please do not hesitate to contact me.   You can also click on my legislative newsletters to get a summary update on what has transpired during the legislative session.

Please feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance.
